Even though it's a push feed, it's probably better than most any other push feed rifles out there. You still get the 3 position safety, original Winchester trigger, and the extractor is as reliable as any non CRF can be.

My favorite non pre 64 vintage, if made after 1967. Have to know the SN to date it, but one of my best shooting and working rifles is a .308 of similar vintage. Improvements were made in '68 to make them a better rifle than 64-67.

Good deal, my .308 is from 70 as well, one of my best rifles.
