Up for grabs is a Buffalo Skinner Knife made by me.
The Buffalo Skinner Knife has a 4 1/2 inch blade of .170 1075 steel dressed with curve backed Buffalo horn bolsters and walnut handles with brass pins. Winners choice of right or left hand sheath with delivery to be initiated from here in New Zealand before the end of November 2018.
As a standard offering with square backed buffalo horn bolsters and blackwood handles the base price is US$205. This one has upgraded curve backed Buffalo horn bolsters (+ $40) and walnut handles (+$20) for a value of US$265 with the sheath included.
The pattern profiled from the bar stock.
The blade bevels done.
After the top bevel is ground in there is hand sanding to bring it up to ready for heat treating.
More hand sanding after heat treat with so the bolsters can be made and pinned on.
The walnut handles can then be fitted to the bolster curve then epoxied and pinned into place. After shaping and sanding the finish is applied and your new knife is ready to send off.
