Been planning to go to one for 2 years now and will finally get a chance.
It’s a summer mini show. Why they are doing who knows. But not many Africa Outfitter's there because they are all hunting.
Decided not worth wasting my time after looking at vendor list.
I believe you are correct, DSC sold me a $1,500 life time membership then announced the next week they were moving the show to Atlanta, so I thought “at least their trying”.My thoughts are that they started this up to try and recover some face, and revenue, with the Dallas members that are still upset with the move of the winter show it Atlanta.

My self and a couple friends went to the summer show last year and were underwhelmed; I stopped by one SA outfitters booth and the young man operating the booth had never been to Africa but was more than happy to sell me a hunt in 3 different countries; another booth by a sponsor of this sight was manned solely by a man & wife client.
There seemed to be mostly Texas outfitters there and they were pushing the “ultra exclusive exotic hunts”; I was offered a $22K 2 day Kudu hunt and I had to fight back laughter as I politely declined.
The TTHA/SCI show this past January I had a good time and visited with alot of outfitters and PH'sThen I may not go. I really don't care for in state exotic hunt pitches... But I think that you should have booked two of the $22k hunts. Wow...
On another note, I noticed that SCI has started what looks to be a "Lone Star" Dallas chapter. I attended the TTHA/SCI show last January in Dallas and I thought it was ok.
Likewise, I went to the TTH show and thought it was better and has massive potential to grow. Then I may not go. I really don't care for in state exotic hunt pitches... But I think that you should have booked two of the $22k hunts. Wow...

The ttha shows have been great for me. Always enjoy going to the Dallas and Forth Worth showsThen I may not go. I really don't care for in state exotic hunt pitches... But I think that you should have booked two of the $22k hunts. Wow...

Yeah I've heard the same thing..... But TTH was able to have their show in the same building and same dates and as the TTH/SCI show grows I believe that SCI/TTH will keep their reservation and DSC will be stuck having their show in Houston, which is still leaps and bounds ahead of Atlanta, however DSC won't be in Houston until 2028 and will be there until 2030!I may go.
If I remember correctly, there are only about 7 US cities with large enough convention centers that can handle this size of show. If I remember, DSC moved since the Dallas convention center was to be under a remodel that would effect them. However, as with anything with Dallas government, it's behind schedule. So I don't totally blame DSC. I'm just not up for going to Atlanta.
