What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

I wish I had a new watch for every guy that says; I don’t need a watch. “I have a cell phone or I’m hunting who cares what time it is”.

Then asks me what time it is because they don’t want to dig the cell phone out of their pocket.

Same theme with knives when on a hunt. Do you have a needle and thread, or superglue, or a zip tie. A air mattress repair kit, batteries.

The same type of unprepared mentality.
I know the feeling one of my running buddies has a nice Bulova and Rolex but both have the incorrect time ( so all his automatic timers to feed and water are all catty wonky) he never has any pliers, electric tape, sharp knives, extra AA or AAA batteries
Baling wire, or gorilla tape. Or a 1st aid kit or extra water or food
I tell him let’s just take my truck incase we need to fix something and he always has same answers I already warmed up the truck and have the dog in it , need to fix some thing it’s “crud I left my tool bag in the garage, “ he has a bolted on truck tool box but it’s empty because he is afraid someone might steal it !

I have not read all 77 pages. I gather I might be the only one slumming it when it comes to watches. I wear my Apple Watch or my Victorinox Fob watch.

Nope. Been wearing this more often than not lately. When not at work

Pilar, I think I would drive separately.
Oh I do ! Being OCD about tools, jackets, food, cigarettes on trips or anything
Drives my friends crazy, till they actually need something desperately and I have it in my truck or pack!

You are not slumming it, you are wearing a watch. Maybe not what I would choose, but who the hell am I to tell anyone about anything. Enjoy your watch, your way.

It's like whiskey. No one can tell you the right way to drink it. Have fun and cheers.

If you do happen to peruse some of the previous 76 pages and have a question, don't be afraid to ask. Lots of people here to (enable) help you with just about anything.

Any opinions on buying a solar powered watch ?
My Stowa I bought on the gray market started losing 34 seconds per day, the guy who I purchased it from said send it back and he would repair it and have it synced
But I now don’t trust it , and was looking at a Seiko with a Epson VS37 solar movement
Or am I barking at the wrong tree for accuracy.
Ok the Flieger has some problems ( see the picture attached) I any thoughts on whether it is still trustworthy, being around water or slightly submerged ( -10 meters)
To do drive shaft and propeller, anodized work on the boats ?
I am not interested in going back to a diver and like the type B face
Sell and start over or trust the repair?
I never had this problem with my Krieger so am very proplexed ( ocd again lol)

No watch for me, I’ll leave that to the PH. I do carry my cell phone so that will work.

I carry my every day beat up old Seiko dive watch that has served me faithfully for the last 50 years. Oh, it loses about a minute a day and the bezel is unreadable. It has several welding slag droplets and other scratches and dings. But, hey, it's like me--old, beat up and kinda tired but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Too many memories both good and bad. Besides, they don't make 'em like that anymore.

@pilar - Not sure I would trust the repair to 10 meters. Laco makes a 42 mm automatic that's good to 50 meters and looks very similar to yours. They have several type B options depending on the size, movement and strap you like. The picture below is just an example.

Iphone. Oh wait that's not a watch

@SCHUNTER73 - Nice Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer Ref 2254.50. I like the hands on that watch as well. Classic.

Congratulations on one in such good condition. They are hard to find like that.

The stem release is probably stuck or maybe broken. Were you able to reinsert the stem? Not familiar with that particular watch what is the brand and movement? As far as water resistance it is probably okay unless the seal came out with it. If it is a screwdown crown there is another seal inside of the crown that presses against the crown tube when it is screwed down, otherwise there may only be the oring inside of the crown tube. Nothing internally should have been damaged (other than the release acting up) by removing the stem under normal circumstances as it has to be done to uncase the movement.

You can live with his and it will loose a few seconds a month...maybe.

Probably too early to say it's now my favourite - but headed that way.

Outstanding legibility, much appreciated by my ageing eyes, and a clean, understated aesthetic.

Hasn't hunted yet, hopefully soon to be rectiified.

One and a half is probably a more accurate estimate

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
