You know, now that you mention it I probably COULD make a case for owning that should I happen to see oneI'd like them to offer a "higher grade" Ruger African model in all the classic calibers, make it weigh 10 pounds.
If not that, I guess I would take a Ruger No. 1 in 505 Gibbs.

Right now, I want a .300 H&H in anything. I would even take a Ruger American in .300 H&H.A 300 HH in the African would be great too!
Gross...I would even take a Ruger American in .300 H&H.
Yes, but that's how badly I want a .300 H&H.Gross...
There’s actually a NIB 275 Rigby Hawkeye African on gun broker right now starting bid $2000… Actually has a pretty nice wood as well. I’m very tempted and would love to see what it ends up going for.I am bringing this one back I guess! I am looking very hard at the Ruger African in 270 however I would rather have one in 30-06 8mm or 7x57. I know they did one on 2017 for 7x57 and would love to see that again and or in the other two calibers above. Does anyone have an idea when the newest 2026 Ruger African might come out can anyone let me know? I need a new rifle for an elk hunt
Thanks
Huh... I never thought about an M77 as the base rifle for my .375 RNE build, but that may make more sense than my somewhat beat-up old Vz24 action. I'm going to doubt that any M77 in 7x57 would have enough meat for a rebore, though.Shhhhhh no one was supposed to know darn it lol yes I am watching that one and maybe going to make a bid. I have another individual that is offering to selll me an older m77 tang safety in 7x57 that I might rebarrel in 8mm or keep as a 7x57 just need to see how she shoots
You could rebore it to the .300 H&H that you want.Huh... I never thought about an M77 as the base rifle for my .375 RNE build, but that may make more sense than my somewhat beat-up old Vz24 action. I'm going to doubt that any M77 in 7x57 would have enough meat for a rebore, though.
