Wow!! They're going more and more communistic all the time. Starts in one state and overnight will be nationwide. Bob will have to rethink his whole existence.

Wow. A precursor 'part'. Is that a hunk of metal that hasn't been machined? Scary.

Unbelievable...so even owning a gun book or magazine on firearms would be illegal.....

  • Possessing plans, instructions, drawings and books in hard or electronic form, of firearms or major firearm parts will become illegal.

Banning books. Will they wear little Hitler mustaches too?
  • Possessing plans, instructions, drawings and books in hard or electronic form, of firearms or major firearm parts will become illegal.
  • Reloading ammunition, possessing reloading manuals and equipment without a manufacturing license can be deemed illegal manufacturing.

At the moment this relates to Western Australia, a place which has always had a reputation for been a neo-police state in respect to firearms. Laws about firearm "blue prints" also exist in NSW, a result of dishonest hype by NSW Pol over the 'threat' of 3D printed guns.

In Australia, policing is organised in large scale State based police forces (plus the Australian Federal Police who hope on the anti-gun ride hoping someone takes then seriously). The most unfortunate part is that the various State Police Commissioners, and their staff, regularly network and come up with ever new 'threats' and law changes designed to make firearm owners lives difficult. While most street level coppers are decent honest and hard working, they are not the types that gravitate into command roles. Command level police are invariably dishonest Putin like psychopathic megalomaniacs wanting evermore power and control.

The best thing that could happen in Australia would be for the State police forces to be broken up into much smaller municipal/regional forces. Something small enough to be community accountable and accountable and not so large that they become a political power player in their own right.

I have to wonder if this is just another example of socialistic governments taking opportunities to legislate their agenda on a public during the opportunities that Covid has presented? Fear mongering and panic inspired perhaps. I hope the shooting fraternity there can quash this, for everyones sake.

Sounds like Australia needs a 2nd amendment. It's the only thing standing in the way of the USA becoming something similar.

@Neil Molendyk Nothing to do with Covid, these issues were underway well beforehand. Also probably nothing to do with socialist vs capitalist either. The worst bans in Australian history were orchestrated by a right wing PM (megalomaniacs don't care about ideology, they just want power for themselves)

@K-man don't count on your second amendment, much of what is in the WA proposal is also reflected in Biden's anti "Ghost Gun' proposals. ps The US 2nd amendment was largely based on the provisions of the UK Bill of Rights of the late 1600s. Hasn't done much to protect gun owners in UK, Canada, NZ or Australia.

That's even more disturbing. Are there no organizations to counter this agenda in Australia?

It’ll be with you one day
It all changed here after the Port Arthur massacre when a psycho had semi auto rifle and killed 35 and wounded a mighty lot of others
Now we are all punished

Agreed 100%

Another example of what feckless leadership does when someone won’t follow the rules, impose more rules on and punish the ones who will. I’ve seen this my whole life starting with spineless teachers as a child who were unable to control the thugs in the classroom to supervisors at work and politicians. If they won’t obey you and they ignore your edicts then flex your muscles on those who will.
I’ve said for years that the people here in the US will continue taking crap just like the rest of the world until they get stupid enough to turn to confiscation then it will blow up in their faces.
The revolution here didn’t start the last time until the British moved to confiscate weapons at Lexington and Concord. With the state of hate now and the hard times coming things may just boil over with just a little heat.
Morons are in charge world wide as far as I can see.

Came across this article on another forum.

They want you to have a license to purchase reloading materials and manuals.

@JimP
It's just another load of bullshit.
They thought about it in another state and threw it out as it was 100% impossible to police. So you have a 30inch piece of 1 inch steel rod at your house, does that then become a precursor to a rifle barrel even if I'm not into firearms.
I think he is just pissing in the wind to make himself look important.

Shame nobody shot him....same with the one in Hungerford in UK....

Bob, you need to find the movie Carbine Williams staring James Stewart. It is a great move about Marsh Williams who developed the operating principle for the M1 Carbine while he was in prison.

He made a barrel out of a tractor axle

We here in NZ are in similar boat now days, it was again a Aussie who came to New Zealand & destroyed any firearm freedoms we had with his massacre, we did have it good for a long time before this.

Before 96 a lot of States in Australia had it very nice to, until the Port Arthur incident !

Oh & yes WA is a very strange state with a lot of its laws, not only Firearms but vehicle laws to !

Saw the movie a long time ago and enjoyed it.
Holly shit next they will out law tractors because the parts can be classified as a precursor for firearms
Farmers will be back to horse drawn ploughs to cultivate their 5,000 acres of wheat.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
