I might have missed the info...but in the limit of 4 ...is that centre fire rifles or does it include shotguns and rimfire rifles....or are they exempt?

In NSW that will include rimfire and shotgun.
One of each and you are limited to 2 centre fires.

If limited to 4 including rimfire, here are my choices from among the rifles I own.

.22LR
.257 Roberts (or AI)
.280 AI
.375 H&H

If rimfire is excluded, then my choices, again from what I own, would be:

.257 Roberts (deer or coyote sized varmints)
.280 AI (deer, plains game, and elk)
.308 Norma Mag (bigger game)
.375 H&H (dangerous game including bears and Cape buffalo)

I know both the .257 Roberts and .308 Norma Mag are odd choices but I own them plus have plenty of brass. I don't own a .300 Win Mag so my magnum is the somewhat older .308 Norma Mag.

As I understand it,4 firearms regardless of what it is,if you shoot compition you can have up to 10 but there are stipulations

I know I should respect my elders but I think I've figured out why you don't like the 243 wonder weapon
You can't handle the huge amount of recoil and muzzle blast.lol

In the job that I have now (Georgia Department of Natural Resources), we are actually encouraged to carry a gun while at work because we can be mistaken for Law Enforcement and put in dangerous situations.

Nah, not really. Its just a matter of getting the license, which here means proving why you need the gun. And then you have to renew the license every year. And we are limited to how many rounds we can purchase on a license for that year, depending on your license type usually around 50 rounds per year

And we thought we had it tough!
