What Do You Consider Disrespectful Trophy Pictures?

Most people can tell the difference. A few antis or nons never will no matter the composition. But some in our own camp apparently remain absolutely “tone deaf” and live in their own arrogant, artificial bubble. Legality has nothing to do with it but I hear that argument often. Recent, famous example below of a certain ex Idaho game commissioner who should have known better.

I dont have a problem with that pic.

But I don’t have problems with most pics.
I really don’t like overly bloody and gore pic.
But there are some hog hunters I know that take pics with a bloody knife and blood on them.

In curious about your first one. Nothing wrong with it but I just wondered why have the bolt open over simply clearing it?

Have seen a number of photos over the years where the barrel is pointing at someone & inevitably someone will comment on it & start a debate. Plus if it is not my rifle & I am setting up the picture with hunter & animal & maybe trackers et cetera then we all know that the gun is 110 % safe ......

For my own I have pictures that I would not post because some people find them offensive. You need to know that hunting is also PR if you post them online.

I have no problem with that guy with the baboons in the picture. What I have a problem is that he is so dumb to put it online knowing the feelings it will arouse. You just shot yourself it the foot.

I shot a baboon on my last trip but the only picture I took was bad taste to put online. Sometimes you have to reflect a while before posting sometime. We are the ambassadors for hunting and our actions have consequences.

I don't care for the cut off elephant tail pictures. I understand the tradition behind the practice, it just doesn't appeal to me in photographic form. Almost seems akin to cutting off a scalp and posing with it. I am not passing judgment on those who take and post such pics, it just hits me wrong.

I am not against elephant hunting, in fact I am going after my first one next month.

There are several photos that show blood and with the tongue out that were taken directly following the recovery, but I don't share these with anyone. They a reminder for me to show how the hunt ended, not for being put on the wall.

All other photos have followed your guidelines, with I believe one exception. The PH didn't want to clean the blood off the eland because it showed perfect shot placement. They used this picture in their catalog the following year, but photoshopped the blood out. If it had been up to me, it would have been cleaned before the picture was taken initially.
