A-Frames will certainly kill a leopard, but would not be my first choice. They are super tough and will not open much on such a light animal. I’d choose a softer bullet, like Nosler Partitions. In fact, that’s exactly what I did on my leopard and plains game hunt last April.

No experience with A-Frame bullets but 165 gr Partitions worked very well on plains game out of my 30-06. Can be a bit messy on deer at close range but meat damage is less of concern in Africa. They prefer bang flop. This wildebeest was my third African animal and shot before noon of the first morning. Killed him dead on the spot at about 100 yards. Hit square in the right shoulder and bullet (what was left of it) recovered in the hide of opposite shoulder.

That’s a nice looking rifle. And nice animal too…

Absolutely......they will expand all the way down to 1650fps...the front part will expand more than enough for leopard....the expansion is controlled by the A frame design. Not the toughness of the front part.
Excellent bullet for all pg as well all the way up to eland in a 300 H&H....
I would not consider the nosler for a mixed bag hunt in Moz from a 300 H&H......
I am assuming you are hunting in Niassa? I am also assuming you are adding livingstone eland to your pg package?
I am also assuming 180gr bullet weight?

Yes, Niassa, I am considering 200 gr…

superb....200gr is the best weight to use in the 300 H&H....
It will work just fine for your leopard as well as eland.....perfect

I built a 300 H&H on a P17 BSA action many years ago. Installed a Fajen stock and a Timney trigger and did the load development before handing it off to a friend. Nice caliber, would shoot 180 grain bullets at 3000fps into tight groups all day long and didn't kick badly. I kept my eye out for a classic in that caliber for many years afterward but finally gave up due to gun safe overload. It remains my favourite of the 30 cal.
