It will be a pity to give up to my other rifles, but I had to keep only one caliber, it would be the .375 H&H magnum.
I have been hunting with this caliber since 2010, a bit in Africa of course but also in driven hunt and sometimes for the walk and stalk.
My rifle is a Blaser R93. First I used it with a classic woodstock but it cracked. So, I left this stock in the safe and I bought a professional stock much stronger. It started its life with a Zeiss 3-12x56, and now I use it with a Leica 2.4-16x56. I also have a Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 for driven hunt. I removed the factory trigger and I have fitted a Bix'n Andy trigger that is awesome.
Here are some games hunted with "Black Mamba". This nickname comes from a Namibian girl I introduced to hunting and handling rifles. She found its recoil pretty aggresive and strong, and because of its colour (grey stone), she called it "Black mamba" !

I also had the opportunity to borrow, use and hunt a little bit with a Krieghoff side by side double rifle.

Nice rifle and well balanced.

Have the Bix N Andy trigger as well. Stock R93 trigger is great, but feel that trigger steps it up a notch.

Another 375 Caliber I am considering is the 375 Raptor
Based off the 308 Winchester case.
Load examples:
235 grain : 2,400-2,675 fps : 3,005-3,734 ft-lbs
270 grain : 2,200-2,400 fps : 2,901-3,453 ft-lbs
400 grain : 1,061 fps : 1,000 ft-lbs
I have an AR10 sitting there begging for a barrel change. Another route would be a short action Savage 110. Projects and projects.

great pictures!

I have yet to fire my new .375 H&H which I got at the end of april after 14 months build time but I expect it will be my got-to-rifle for big game for the forseeable future.

Kimber Talkeetna .375H&H, barrel cut down from 24” to 20”, stock cerakoted to look like an antique wood gun. This rifle has served me well on many trips to Africa!

My wife’s custom built .375 H&H by Sterling Davenport. Sterling fit her perfectly; 1947 FN Mauser action, 25” Krieger barrel, and “Davenported”. She has taken both dangerous game and plains game with the rifle.

My .375 H&H seeing some cull action with Henry earlier this year. We had a ball and provided a healthy dose of quality, organic protein to local communities.

Thanks for a great week @HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS

I always wanted a 416 Rigby but ended up with a 375HH because that was what I could find at the time. Now, I have two of them. Both are nice and have never let me down.

  • FN Browning with Swarovski Z6i 1-6x optic. Used to take Whitetail buck in WV and Blue WB in Limpopo on my 1st Safari.
  • Enfield P14 ER Shaw custom with Kahles K16i 1-6x optic. Used to take Cape Buffalo in Free State and Kudu in Limpopo. One of the most accurate rifles I own.
