A buddy and myself are in the planning stages for a guided moose hunt in 2018 or 2019. We want a rifle hunt in a remote area with quality bulls. Don't really have strict a budget at this point. Roughly speaking, we would prefer to keep it as close to $20k (or under) as possible, however I could be convinced to spend more if I thought the experience really would be that good. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Contact Chris Widrig. His area is near the Arctic Circle in the Yukon. There are no resident hunters, it takes a week to trail the horses in for the season and he has big moose. I have hunted with him twice. He has a photo of a grizzly I took this year at the top of his web site.

First suggestion skip NWT for Moose.
The Yukon will have the largest Moose on your list.
Both BC and Yukon will have remote locations.

Fly in, Hiking, Horseback??? What are you after?

Have a look:

Good to know. We'd be open to fly in, hiking, or horseback. Just looking for a good hunt with quality bulls.

I've been in touch with Chris via email, and his outfit is definitely in the running. Aside from one disgruntled sheep hunter found in another thread, he seems to get good reviews. I just want to explore my options and do some research before we decide on an outfitter.

Don at Macmillan river adventures . They have arguably the best Yukon moose area . I hunted one of the fly in horse camps , had four hunters in that camp that year, and all four got nice ones . I shot a 65" on the second day , very well put together hunt .

@CDorroh Ive got a couple Yukon guys, drop me an email and we can talk about a few options. have you considered one of the Alaska hunts?

CDorroh: I did a Dall sheep hunt in the Yukon in August of this year. I hunted with Dickson Outfitters (http://www.dicksonoutfitters.com/) and had a great experience. I plan to go back and do a moose hunt in a couple of years. Dickson's concession is right along the Alaska-Yukon border.

You can find a listing for all the outfitters (there's only 17) in the Yukon listed here: http://www.yukonoutfitters.net/

This is the hunt results from the 2015-16 season. Might give you an idea of what areas to look at.

Thank you

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
