Wanted 260gr-270gr Barnes Banded Solids .375

I’m looking for 260-270gr banded solids for 375“ caliber. If you have any, please let me know.
I may have a box of 250gr Barnes solids?

@CoElkHunter I’m very interested if they are true solids, non-expanding. Could you please check and PM me with your list of demands? :).
I was mistaken, they are 270gr. Lucky you! LOL I’ll PM you.

@CoElkHunter saved the day! We’d be interested in 1-2 more boxes or partial boxes if anyone has any of the 270gr Barnes solids in 375” please.

Also, if anyone has an old Barnes loading manual, we’d really appreciate published data. Their website does not provide data for the older solids that would likely be higher pressure (they were harder and lacked the gentle driving bands of the TSX).

Thanks so much friends.

@krish might have an older Barnes manual?

I could use a handful as well. I am going to Tanzania and need something to be able to take a Dik Dik with. I’ll have my 270g TSX loads so I’ll then need to match that with some solids. I am sure I can find some As I’ll only need 10-20.

infinite supply of 300gr solids around that have driving bands that reduce pressure and barrel wear while being easier to regulate to same performance as a soft, @Philip Glass.

The primary reason for a 270gr solid is to obtain dangerous game performance as slightly lower recoil for a woman or child where an extra 3-4 foot pounds of recoil makes a difference.

For what you’re trying to accomplish, I’ve had very good luck with 300gr swift a-frames and a matching 300gr solid, either Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer or woodleigh classic solid. They will regulate to same POI by reducing the powder charge between half and one grain of powder.

@krish you’re amazing. Glad you did, those early Barnes solids create excess pressure. The powders and weights are WAY different than the banded solid data of today. Truly appreciate it!

I have not found load data from barnes for them.
They did not offer it to public I know off.

Did you know barnes made XLC .375 270 AND 300GR Solid BULLETSView attachment 448410
Krish,
I did not know that. That photo of the Barnes page shows the "XFB" bullet. Must have been a bonded or cup and core bullet as it is way shorter than the same weight monometal bullet?

They made them for few ammo manufacturers like PMC and alike. When they discontinued XLC's midway had them for sale a limited quantities.
