Want To Buy Swift A frame Bullets 9.3mm (.366)

Appreciate the thoughts on the Barnes TSX. I have 250 TSX both bullets and Buffalo Bore ammo. Gun likes them fine but PH will not let me use all cooper bullet on a leopard. So now I need 2 bullets one for leopard and one for other plains game. Swift A frame does that all in one bullet. Working on load development with Nosler AB 250 grain. That may work for all

I absolutely love Swift A Frames, however I thought it was too stout for leopard. I was planning to use Core-Lokts in my 338WM instead. But I came across a super deal on Norma Oryx and used to on my leopard. Worked great. A good PG bullet is all you need for leopard.

I have a 9.3x62 as well and had to troll all the ammo websites continuously for availability. I now hand load them.....Good luck.

When I read people who have taken leopard with the Swift all report it did fine, but they would use a softer nose bullet if done again like the accubond certainly not a Barnes. However, I do not ever want to be a hypocrite...I just loaded three boxes or 60 bullets of Swift A Frames in 9.3x62 for my August leopard hunt given I also will be shooting other game.

What powder did you use?

Big Game. I wish I had taken pictures of my shooting yesterday getting ready for my August leopard hunt. Three shots touching each other yes from a steady rest but that will be the situation during my hunt. I can’t say enough about buying the life size targets when viewed through your scope at 100 yards for leopards in this case. It really drove home the point the vitals are further back and hitting the point of the shoulder seems to be the sweet spot

I use Big Game powder with 286 grain bullets, and Varget with the 250AB and I also think with 270Speer bullets. The Varget load has been vey accurate in both of my 9.3’s. Not a speed demon, but accuracy was great. I think around 2400-2500fps with 250’s? Going from memory in my notes that I do not have in front me. With 286’s I think same speeds. 286 partitions and big game gave me amazing accuracy.

Thanks! Did you you use magnum primers with the Big Game powder?

For 286 grains I used CCI large rifle #200. Plenty of data out there for using the Big Game powder. Look up John Barness article as well. Start low. I found a great accuracy node with no pressure signs and just stopped. I was more than happy with outcome. No need to stress cases etc.

I have some other loads with 250’s/varget that I used CCI and also Fed Match large rifle primers.

The 270’s I used IMR4350 just because I had a whole lot of it, and it did well also

I think for Leopard a soft bullet like the 270 grain Speer bullet would work great, they are available at Precision Reloading for 26.00 box of 50
