Nevada mule deer, rifle, public land, Unit 242, Day 3 of 5 day hunt. 10/29/2025. Unbranded Outfitters. Saw about 300 mule deer in different areas of the units (241-245).

Clover Mountains north of the Tule Desert, Nevada. Big country - beautiful.

Extremely blessed, thankful, and grateful. Good luck this season and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

468 yards, slightly downhill with a buddy’s custom-built 300 PRC. Outfitter was able to film the shot with his spotting scope - pretty exciting to review.

Congratulations, that’s a helluva Brute!

Very nice. Congrats!

Narrow, but tall with excellent mass. I'd bet closer to 160. Bet it's an older deer and starting to go downhill on it's rack size too. Great buck to take.

Great deer to harvest! Was the tag tough to draw?

In full and honest disclosure, I will “spill the beans.” The mule deer landowner “pay-to-immediately-play” tags in Nevada units 231 and 241-245 are valued at $20,000+. (FYI - I was also told that some of the best Nevada landowner elk tags sell for $60,000+.)

Several nonresident applicants have up to 31 bonus points in attempting to draw 1 of these 3 available lottery tags in this unit.

I had only 1 bonus point - as I snagged the returned tag in the FCFS program. I had mule deer hunted with my outfitter and guide friend in Nevada over the past few years so he fit me in on short notice.

You never know what life will throw at you. Very blessed, grateful and thankful for the opportunity! Good luck this season and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

A wonderful Mulie! Well done.

Congratulations! You’ve been extremely lucky on tags the last few years with that and your AZ Sheep Tag but you’ve also put in the time of playing the points/application game.

Did your outfitter know the tag was gonna be turned into FCFS and tip you off to check each morning or were you just immensely lucky that you checked the morning they processed the tag being turned in?

When they made the change in 2023 that only Non Res could get a Non Res Tag, I checked several times and same with 2024, but stopped looking thinking a non res turning it in one of the few tags and me checking the day it came available was going to be like hitting the lottery and my odds were better getting lucky in the draw or building points.

Update: My taxidermist friend completed the shoulder mount of my 2025 Nevada mule deer. Very pleased with his work.

Good luck this upcoming season and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

Great deer! Congratulations :D Beers:

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer

Good Evening. I am very interested in you hunt for the spiral slam. March in 2028 would be fine for me

Couple of quick questions:

1) Can we add some additional species on
2) what do you want for a deposit?
3) how do you want me to sign up

I'm on whats app or email
