Although I was able to personally take a nice Osceola bird this year, overall, it was an off year for us. The birds would not gobble and were not strutting in the open fields for us late season. Henned-up gobblers locked down in the woods will usually live to see next spring. If you can't hear them or see them, they are usually pretty hard to kill.
Despite uncooperative birds, we did manage to score for my wife in Western Kentucky. I however, will be eating tags and gravy for dinner. Western Kentucky had a terrific early season with gobbling aggressive birds everywhere. But unfortunately for us, we were only able to get away for the last week of the season, and gears shifted dramatically as any turkey hunter knows will happen. From the forum, it looks like lots of folks around the county had a good season with lots of nice birds on the ground. Congrats to all on their trophies!
