Unusual Trophies

Don’t know if it’s a trophy or just something for pratical use.
I made some hat tie down string keeper out of pieces of snapping turtle shell

And I have taken deer antlers cut them to about 4in in length and used 550 cord to make deer/hog pull cord handle. It makes dragging them out of the woods a lot easier

Oh yea made my wife a comb with a pice of the shell to.
It’s not the best ie it doesn’t look any where as good as the old comerical grade turtle shell combs.
But she liked it thought it was neat looking and thought it was nice for me to try something like that.

And I had a buddy that made flys with deer/ squirrel and coon hair from animals he took.

Here are my buffalo feet bookends

A pair of knives from a warthog I shot. My son got the other one:

A rifle case made from elephant trunk:

Just be very specific with your requests. I asked for an elephant femur and was shipped a pair of bones from the forearm. Basically I paid a ton of money for something I didn't want.
GREAT RIFLE CASE!

Bears and otters also have a baculum like coons. I kept the one out of my brown bear and cleaned it up and use it to stir/mix drinks. Works great.
This is funny & fun fact the Black Bear Baculum is near double the size of Grizzly-Brown Bears.

But if hunting for a trophy Baculum - Oosik or Cock Bone, you would do well to hunt Walrus !

Of course pales in comparison to extinct species of Walrus.

Gator/croc boots and accessories. Very expensive to have made, especially when you provide the skins.

Hippo foot champagne buckets, hippo foot tv remote tray, buffalo foot ash tray, buffalo scrotum pouch for muzzle loader. I like odd things

Really enjoying this thread.

This isn't necessarily unusual. But, I clean and highly polish my bear claws to what I would consider a jewelry type quality. Again, it's not really unusual. It's just that most people don't go through the effort to do it, because it is kind of a pain in the a**.

@Just Gina had a window seat made out of her giraffe backskin. We had a foft furniture tan done... it and several other curios are being shipped with our taxidermy this month so we haven't touched any of this yet.

In addition to the buffalo front feet book ends from our 2024 buffalo. We had chairs and a duffle made from the hides.

Well, front feet from 3;) If you listen to the Africans they kinda did.... Not that they had any steam left by then ..... The biggest was my father in laws and he ran out of ammo so the PH was telling me to shoot. The buffalo wanted to get us but was stumbling pretty badly and about 20 yards away yet so I just handed my gun to Gina's dad and let him put a finisher in :) It's likely his one and only buffalo so I really didn't want to take any little bit of the experience away.

Gina's 404 had scoped him practicing back home so he was content shooting a 375. It was that 404 he finished the buffalo with but with the adrenaline he had no problems shooting it!

I’ve done that with one of my elephant leg bones. I will post when it arrives. Collets did the work
Collets did the giraffe and elephant bones for me.
