The only showing they set up in Oklahoma was in an older theater in a Hispanic mall with no advertisement at all. Don't think it sold enough tickets to show but can't tell for sure.
Do you know who chose the venue's, and are they trying to hide it??

It can be done and I am willing to come do the Q&A if my time allows. The Tugg website allows you to set up a special screening anytime. Remember theaters are hurting so you will see more of this.

No just a $$$ deal I believe. People are not going to theaters much anymore. I also believe that R rated films are doomed to not make money but they don't listen.

R-rated films have a challenge in that they have limited a lot of their market, but we can see easily that some R-rated type material does well if we look at Game of Thrones. What it needs to be is a compelling story. Recent highly successful rated R films include Deadpool ($363 million), American Sniper ($350 million), The Hangover ($277 million) and Logan ($226 million). Also, It is currently in theaters and so far at over $278 million. There have also been some great movies that have done well that perhaps people don't remember were rated R, such as Air Force One, Rain Man, Terminator 2, Jerry Maguire and Gran Torino come to mind.

But films have a tough time in the theaters now unless they are going for all the audiences they can get. This is why we see so few Westerns today. Sadly, they do not do well outside of North America.

I just saw an interview with the two filmmakers on the BBC’s morning show here in London. The film will apparently be out there on Friday.

I was surprised at how balanced the discussion was. Certainly, the BBC presenters were talking about ‘squaring the circle” in terms of killing animals you want to preserve, but the filmmakers didn’t give an inch: “We’re not seeing it as Africans see it” and “We both want to see these animals a hundred years from now, but we disagree on how to get there” and “Conservation costs money.” I’m not sure that any minds were changed just as a result of this short interview, but any one who cares about animals should have taken a moment to think, which is a victory in itself. And they might take some time to see the film.

    @Philip Glass, well done.

Thanks Hank2211. I’ve done many phone interviews with press in the UK lately so I know a lot is going on with the film overseas. I hope the discussion continues. I was on the phone with CNN today planning a couple interviews with them for the January 14th showing on CNN.

So best to stay completely uninformed. What a bunch of sad misguided fools.

    Just got this from SCI

    Member Alert
    Dear SCI Members,

As you know from previous emails, the recent movie "Trophy" contains segments that attack our sport and our way of life. The film was shown at select theaters across the country last September and received mixed reviews, which can be seen here.

One of these reviews includes the producers' admission that: "We really wanted to shame the industry," which illustrates their obvious bias. While the film makes the occasional concession to the truth that hunting is a critical cornerstone of conservation in Africa, the movie on balance is nonetheless an anti-hunting propaganda piece.

While original viewership of the film was very small, we have learned that CNN will air the film on Sunday, January 14 at 9:00 PM EST. We expect viewership of the film to continue to be very small, but wanted to inform you that we are prepared for all outcomes.

If you or someone else from your chapter is contacted by the media requesting an interview or comment on the film, we ask that you contact our public relations team at scipr@theheraldgroup.com or call 202-617-3008 immediately. Our team will respond accordingly to the request.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Anyone know if CNN will air this on their international channel?

Or is that one reserved for Trumpbashing?

I think the "bashing" is just reporting facts... but honestly there has to be more news in the world. I do not subscribe to any programming but I hope to catch the show on Utube. But I think that CNN is much like CBC, and I suspect it will report a slant that will be approved by the majority of it's viewers. Which is not to the benefit of wildlife....

I believe it will be streaming online as well. Better to just buy it on iTunes or other digital download services so you get the whole film. CNN will be edited for commercials.

Phillip, you continue to comport yourself well throughout many efforts to discredit you. My sincerest thanks for putting yourself in the limelight and becoming a subsequent target for doing so. To para-phrase a popular beer commercial

Yeah I use Facebook to promote the cause, but after the Cecil fiasco I had to tighten my filters. Hunt the Hunters targeted me for posting a photo of a nice bucks head boiling away in a pot. They didn't seem to appreciate it at all. And to top it off, I suggested to Ted Nugent that he ratchet back on some of his rhetoric to which he told me to F___ off. Fair enough, but then his minions weighed in, and after recieving hundreds of good wishes from them and Hunt the Hunters I decided to close the Facebook door.

Awesome work! Although not on this level, I too have the subject of threats and (attempted) intimidation because of hunting. You know, folks praying I would suffer a long slow painful death while my wife cheated on me and my kids spat on me etc.etc. Or that my kids would die so that my abhorrent DNA would be wiped out...

    So I'm selective....

I have my normal privacy set to "friends only." I don't care about everyone in the world seeing every one one my posts on FB.

Then when it's a conservation message I open it up to all. If the antis find it and won't place nice I block them. If they actually want to debate rationally I will do that. I made a post about my elephant and they found it eventually, which I had kind of hoped they would. I wanted my non hunting (and even hunting) friends to see how vicious they are.

    https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10213764462043690&id=1170472203

I won't be intimidated. Once there were enough comments to make my point though I just started deleting them. I would have deleted the one morons face, but there were comments attached to that post that I didn't want to lose. Unfortunately if you delete a comment on FB all sub comments go with it.
