Travel Insurance Under a Pandemic

I always buy insurance. I have air travel and deposit for a Safari in September.
I'm wondering if coverage is extended to air travel and bookings with outfitters if travel is prevented because of a Pandemic.
My hunch is it's not covered. It's usually for things like death of a close family member.
Any input?

Hello, I am the Hunting Manager at @Global Rescue. Pandemics are not covered for the comprehensive travel insurance. There is products offered by certain travel insurance companies called cancel for any reason. This product does in fact cover pandemics. However, there is a 20 day window in which you must secure this service from the initial date you put down your deposit. I do strongly recommend covering your trip regardless. Hopefully by this fall we have this pandemic under control. Stay safe and healthy!
