I have been collecting 83's and 87's. I have one magnum receiver, and complete rifles in .22 Hornet, .223, .22-250, .243, .270, 7mm-08, 7mm Rem Mag, .30-06, .405 Win, .45-70, and 12 gauge smoothbore (slugs).

I love these rifles; they are accurate, light, and break-down for easy carry/transport. I have some extra barrels: .223 (1), .243 (1), .270 (2), 7mm Rem Mag (2), and .30-06 (3). I was thinking I might send a couple off to JES to have them rechambered/rebored, but have yet to make the call. Some of the calibers I am interested in, considering, are .250 and .300 Savage, .35 Remington, .358 Win (or .35 Whelen), .338-06, .375-06, .416 Taylor. I am not entirely certain I want a .338 Win Mag, or a .375 H&H; the. 405 and .45-70 are tolerable, but I think the recoil velocity of the .338 Win Mag might be a bit much in a light rifle like this. I am interested in your thoughts.

Tengo dos, uno en un 7-08 y otro con receptor magnum en 7 RM. Son un pequeño y encantador rifle que, lamentablemente, no creo que vuelvan a fabricar después del incendio en TC.

I actually talked to the SSK industries guy about 20 years ago about them. I couldn't tell you anything remarkable, but he said they had stopped supporting them as they were a pain in the ass.

TC also came up with a falling block single shot, but it never came to market.

Currently in production of similar form, but not completely function:

Blaser K95
Krieghoff Hubertus
Merkel Kipplauf series
Sabatti has had one on and off
There are a couple of other Italian ones in the $1500-3500 price point, I don't remember all of them.

All of these have historical versions as well.

Most of the ones made in America had an exposed hammer.

The Russians also had one made by Baikal.

A bit of thread dredge here guys, but I had quit looking for one of these, but as often happens I stumbled on one the other day on GB with a TC Custom shop .35 Whelen barrel on it and after cogitating for some time about it I decided to get it headed my way.
Only drawback AFAIK is the lack of a scope mount so am on the lookout for a scope mount setup for this.
Appreciate any info on it or as Trump would say, "thanks for your attention to this matter!"

Thanks but I dont see anything there to fit the TCR. I bought a .30-06 barrel that had a Burris mount and rings so all set.

If your looking for bases for the TC Aristocrat, those are completely different then the TCR 83/87.

My rifle is an 87, but I understood that the Aristocrat was simply the fancy wood version of the 83 series.

You are correct... the aristocrat was a deluxe version of the TCR 83.

BUT... TC also called a version of their pistol the aristocrat as well. So be careful because the pistol version is the same as the contender, omega etc.

So TC Aristocrat and TCR Aristocrat can be 2 different guns completely.

I guess... just saying be careful as I was all set to buy a set of bases because they were for a TC Aristocrat and the guy sent me a pic and the mounting holes were right down the center of the base. I was like what the???
