Thaba Nyati Safaris was founded on our passion for wildlife and the African Bushveld. Our name translates to Mountain of Buffalo from Tswana, the local indigenous language. We are a family-owned and run hunting business. One of our key distinguishing features is that our camp is exclusively yours and your group during your stay.
We own and run an extensive list of game, including over 500 Buffalo. On average, there are between 40 to 50 Buffalo bulls to pick from on the property where you stay, which means less driving between concessions.

Our hunting concessions are in excess of 100,000 hectares, all within easy reach of our home base near Thabazimbi, Limpopo, South Africa.

Thaba Nyati is situated in the heart of the Bushveld hunting area of South Africa, within a 2.5-hour drive from OR Thambo Airport in Johannesburg. There are 3 game parks as well as a wide variety of other entertainment facilities in the surrounding area for possible side trips.

Hunting Methods
We tailor your hunt to your physical abilities, and we support fair chase principles.

Blinds​

Due to the habits of some animals, hunting from blinds is available.

Walk & Stalk​

Come and experience the bush from close by on a walk and stalk hunt, where you can feel the nature around you.

Hunting from a vehicle​

Due to the distances, clients can be transported by vehicle until the prey animal is spotted. Depending on the circumstances and the hunter’s preference. A foot stalk can be done from there on.

Accommodation​

Our Hunting Camp is a cozy, clean, and well-managed Bush Lodge. To give our guests the best experience, we prefer to host only one group at a time. The lodge accommodates up to nine guests in luxury rooms surrounded by a lush garden with native trees.
All meals are prepared by our skilled chefs, offering high-quality cuisine with a distinct South African touch.
