Hi all,
I have not been very active during the last months, too busy in the bush... I am back home now for a few weeks and getting ready to go to CAR again..

I came across some unusual scenes of wildlife in Tanzania that I filmed and photographed.

THE WARTHOG FIGHT:
I was sitting by a waterhole, after an hour 57 warthogs were by the water !!! Too many!!! The big boars started to intimidate each other, dancing stiff on their legs, throwing dust and fight. When they hit their head, it makes a big KLONK.... Very cool to see how they behave.

Here is the video.

HIPPOPOTAMUS:
The Selous is one of the last kingdom of the big beast, I don't know how many thousands they are, but keep your rifle with you when you go behind a tree !!!
I notice one thing !!! Sure we all know that but it was the first time I saw it. They drink clear water... Did you see that once? One big bull left the pool and went to the Stream close by and drunk for about 5 mn...

LIONS FROM SELOUS:
You all know the rule in Tanzania for a trophy lion: 6 years old. I can tell you the population is increasing fast and we see some beautiful male.

ELEPHANT:
Despite the heavy ivory poaching (TZ lost 35000 elephant during the last 2 years), elephant hunting is still very good with some nice bulls with long ivory.

Great bunch of photos Christophe, Thanks!

Awesome as always Christophe, thanks for sharing.

Hello all,

thank you very much. It is right, I had a fantastic time in Tanzania. I saw lots of game and the hunters got some nice trophies, especially this big EA eland which is going to rank 3 or 4 in the SCI book.
Right, now it is time to go to CAR, I am leaving tomorrow morning for a bongo hunt. Will be back for Christmas with my daughter, so I will let you know what is going on in the bush.
Cheers

Be safe Christophe, CAR looks to be quite a dangerous place right now. Looking forward though to your first Bongo report!

Great pics, merci !

Well, I am still at home as AF 775 did not go to Bangui last Tuesday.... for safety reasons.... but AF went today whithout notice....
So next try January 7. Hope everything will be ok....

Just want to share one more video:

Enjoy

With all that is going on in Bangui this week perhaps it is a good omen that you missed the flight. Hopefully things will settle down before Jan. 7th.

Are you having any problems in the hunting concession?

The elephant video was great. Thanks.

Everything is 100% good in the hunting area with lots of bongo signs !!!! I am mad.....

Have a great trip.

Get a giant bongo and provide pics like you always do.

Stay safe.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
