TANZANIA: Faded Mountains & New Memories

Great report... sorry about the disappointment of not getting a buff in the mountains. Did you see any other game while up there? Bushbuck or eland?

I hunted with Blake in the Moyowasi last September and in Zim with CMS in 2014... great guy and PH. Always fun to be with.
The very top of Gelai in the forest reserve remains good for bushbuck, but that’s about it. The northern slopes of Gelai in Adam’s area are pretty much bomas and goat pastures at this point. The area lower down remains very good for lesser kudu, and still has eland and gerenuk.

Blake is a real asset to the industry. He has my highest recommendation.

What a beautiful place for safari. Thank you for sharing your experience and photos.

This one was particularly interesting:

It looks like you are the second person to make a size comparison.

Huge congrats on your safari and excellent report. I am hunting Natron North (10-day premium permit) with Adam Clements in May. My wife is joining me for this one. We will follow that up with a short stay at Gibbs Farm for the Crater tour and then off to Arusha National Park. Like you I've hunted all over Tanzania and I just can't ever seem to get enough Tz.

Welcome to AH, Jay! You’re going to love this place.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
