To all my African Hunting friends,
On 15 February 2026 my charming wife and I will hold an Open House with special guests Stuart Williams and his PH Rudi Nel of Talley-Ho Safaris, Limpopo South Africa. All are welcome even if you have no plans on ever hunting Limpopo. Come over and meet an exceptional gentleman Stuart and rock hard Rudi along with me and hopefully a couple dozen or more Africa hunters! We can tell stories of our hunts and adventures, and discuss rifles, loading ammunition, and shooting.
Location is 30 miles north of Detroit just outside a farming community. I will provide my address and phone number via DM. I hope all will be so kind as to contact me with a tentative or definite attendance (RSVP). I’d also like to have your phone numbers if you don’t mind.
The following I’m borrowing from @mdwest ,
“As a reminder... If you intend on swinging by this year and haven’t done so yet, even if you already know the address, please shoot me a PM and let me know you’re planning on coming by...
I’m trying to maintain a list of people attending so that we're sure to overdo it on food, drink, etc.. we definitely don’t want to plan for 30 and then end up needing to feed 50... I'd much prefer we plan for 50 and feed 50.. or plan for 50 and then have leftovers if only 30 show up ”
There will be food and refreshments to enjoy. You won't leave hungry.
If you want to bring along your favorite dangerous game rifle for show and tell that will be outstanding!
We haven’t decided on times but since this will be held on a Sunday, please tentatively plan on:
1 PM to 6 PM
15 February 2026
30 miles north of Detroit.
Please shoot me and/or @Tally-Ho HUNTING SAFARIS for details… I hope to put faces to many online friends.
These are my hunt reports of one of my Talley Ho safaris.
Note that I asked Stuart to host my sister in law's family from Johannesburg and he rolled out the read carpet! That was three years ago and the children are still talking about the "animals"!

Expectations, we all have them. How often are ALL of one’s expectations fulfilled? For me, this was the case in my second hunt with Stuart Williams’ Tally Ho Safaris. Granted, my expectations were realistic based on much research and having hunted with Tally Ho a year prior. My wife tells me that I overthink everything. To that I respond, thinking is my superpower. I plan for the worst and hope for the best!
The background is that I hunted with Stuart and his PH Rudi Nel for four days last year enroute to a Zimbabwe elephant hunt. I came back to Tally Ho because they did everything right...

Cull Hunt at @Tally-Ho HUNTING SAFARIS – October 2022
I had arrived in SA on Sunday evening. We traveled to the Kalahari on Monday, hunted lionesses on Tuesday thru Thursday morning, and drove to Limpopo the remainder of Thursday. (See the thread Kalahari Lionesses with Tally Ho Safaris) The next seven days at Tally Ho would be a cull hunt for critters that Stuart had too many of. I had my trophies in the two lionesses. No self-imposed pressure now, just hunting for the pleasure of it.
Friday morning at Tally Ho, I verified my 375 and 458 were sighted in at 100...
