My daughter and me are going there next year hunting. I'm wanting to take my 30-06 and 300 win mag. Is that even possible? I've read you can't take two of the same caliber. Are the considered the same caliber? Same bullet diameter, but to me not the same caliber.

GOOD TO GO. riflepermits.com WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.

No problem with 2 .30 calibers rifles transported together as long as the cartridges are not the same

As other posted, good to go. Just don't do this.

I use Riflepermits, they make it pretty easy. They will send you an email with attachments of forms you print out, fill out, then send back to them. For the main SAPS form they will also include an 'example' of a filled out form, saves you a lot of hassle.

I love my guns and I like to hunt with my guns, so I pay the 165.00 and do the paperwork, it really isn't that bad.

Any particular animal you are targeting?

Gracy's forms are all online with a highlighted fill in the blanks format. Anything wrong or mistakes, they reply with those issues to be corrected or added.

Good to go. But don’t try 300 win mag. 300 PRC.
Both are 300 and that’s what they look at.
Been there already asking that one.
What @Mark Biggerstaff said.
I was surprised they don't make a difference between 450 NE and 450/400 NE. Luckily no one travels with both.

Kudu, gemsbok, Zebra, and Impala. Maybe some other stuff to.

Take my answers as an example of what I went through but not gospel.

When I went I had my outfitters do my gun paperwork SAPS 520 and precheck.
I got to the room for check in at SA and all they did was open the case, well I opened it but they checked serial number matched the invitation letter, never checked my caliber, never ask me, never checked ammo.

Now when I left; I was at the SA police room in the air port, they never even asked me to open the case, just had a form I signed that said it was line and and unloaded and had me stuff the card in between the gap I made by opening 2 locks but didn’t want me to open the case.

Once at customs in US in Miami, I was the last one checked out of like 10 of us with rifles, they looked at my 4457 and checked the serial number. Not the caliber, I put my scope serial numbers on there and they saw that but didn’t care.

Just got back last week from SA, took my 308 and 300 Win Mag, no issues at all, I used Henry from Riflepermits it was a breeze, you are all good there!

They are not. So easy to do as follows: 1. get both rifles on form 4457. I always use a third party like Rifle Permits who will help you apply for your temporary rifle license well in advance. Could not be easier!

They have different brass stamps of course which is what is usually checked. On my many trips to SA they have only checked my rifle serial numbers nothing else

I was afraid of this before my first trip that I had to develop a load for my rifle using new stamped brass as my go to load was in 06 stamped brass and I had a stockpile.
They never checked but felt more comfortable my first trip that it matched.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.
