Suppressors off the NFA list!

The run on suppressors will be massive in Texas alone; I'm going to wait until the demand calms down.

I remember when the gun scares started after Obama, it seemed like over night quality control went to shit and it took years to come back.

I will say this. We did not start selling any today without the standard as always form 4 being submitted. Two other shops here did same as us. One close by in about 40 miles of us did. Heard they sold over 150 today.
We are waiting on more clarification! There are restrictions on how they were acquired to be transferred under this new plan. Also trusts are not accepted its individual purchase.

I have spoken with several dealers in my area as well and they are all continuing with the form 4's until more clarification is given. I bought 8 online from Capital Armory and they are also continuing to use the form 4 for now.

I picked up a Lyman Skarv (rimfire suppressor) recently. Im actually going to shoot it for the first time tonight.. Im excited to see how it stacks up against my buddies award winning titanium can..

Most of the reviews Im seeing on the Rekkr and the Paradox 30 cal cans are sort of middle of the road.. theyre not nearly as quiet at a host of $800-$1500 30 cal cans out there.. but.. Midwest Gunworks had the last round of Rekkr's priced at $279... for $279 Im more than happy to have an "average" performer.. All Im looking to do is strap it to a hunting rifle and improve performance... if its even half as good as I think it will be, I plan on buying 3 of them and putting a dedicated unit on different rifles.. I figure I can buy 3 for the price of 1 other unit.. in for a penny, in for a pound lol.

That's where I am with it. For under $300 to have a basic can is all I want for hunting from a 4x8 box. I'm taking 1, maybe 2 shots. 3 if theres a big group of hogs and I work the bolt fast and they take the long path for prolonged exposure. I don't like wearing "ears" when hunting, I want to hear nature and the activity.

I can buy more advanced units for volume shooting if needed.

Just curious, Are you processing all models this way, or specifically the ones named as plaintiffs?

And do you sell the Lyman ones? I know myself and mdwest have been keeping eyes out for the Rekkr unit.

Form 4 is not an option thru Silencer Shop any longer.
What I understand from Silencer Shop is any purchases in one of the Free States will be no Form 4 done on.

Update. Silencer shop has added feature to still allow conventional Form4 to be done.

To that point, I encourage you all to join GOA so in the unfortunate event you're being prosecuted "Bigly" you at least can claim you are part of the named party class subject to the suit.

In the joined case, Jensen v ATF, being a member of the Texas State Rifle Assoc. or Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms would also suffice. Even if not a member of any of the groups involved, it is my understanding (not a lawyer) that customers of named dealers are also covered. Thus, it might be more important to have the dealer covered than be a member of an organization.

What will be interesting is to see what a top, top of the line suppressor costs in a year. The reality is that no suppressor is worth $1000, the very best ever made was worth maybe $400 as a machined part. The bureaucracy, gun trusts, serialization, storage pending approvals, slow turn on inventory, expanded warehousing to hold pending transfers, BATF processing, that is where the remaining $600 in MSRP was coming from.

I predict the market caving in. When a guy can make 10,000 units and sell every one of them at a gunshow for a fist full of cash and zero paperwork, the prices will surely come down a lot.

From your lips to God's ears. That's what I'm waiting on. I was on Silencer Central this morning at about 0530, didn't figure I'd see any movement on price yet, and there wasn't.

I'd like their 46TI for my 404J and 9.3x62, but they already have a 24" and 22.8" barrels, prolly would need to cut them down a bit. And my 1895 GBL. I'd just have to get somebody to shorten the mag tube and move the dove tail notch back an inch or 3.

Radical Firearms is only about 15 minutes from me, my neighbor is friends with the owner. Might try to get something from him, but they 3D print all theirs. Not sure I need an inconel silencer, tho.

prefer trust, still uncertain as what can happen taking out of state and overseas.
We also decided to stop form 4473 transfers and back to Form 4 only out of some concerns involving what suppressors are eligible and what is not. Also there is no provision for a dealer to remove existing silencers in his form 4 inventory log to show they are sold and transferred. Plus some other things our ATF guy told us I am not at liberty to say publicly

In my case, it is because NFA items including suppressors are only legal if registered under a Form 4 or 1.

North Carolina law (GS 14-288.8) must change before I can do a mere 4473 transfer. That law considers suppressors aka mufflers as "weapons of mass destruction." Go figure.

I’ve watched several videos regarding sales in Hueytown Alabama. Apparently this dealer is allowing purchases without form 4. I have no seen or heard of anyone else in Alabama. Maybe others have.

I’m curious to how this will play out over the next several weeks.
