Suppressors in safari pictures

Looks like the equivalent of hunting with a surf rod.

Now on my DDM4 that is a different issue - but so is the barrel length and intent.

What are the current laws in the US? In Canada they are illegal.

US varies by State. I live in Maine suppressors are legal to own and hunt with. As long as you have submitted the correct Federal paperwork, sent in a check for $200.00, and waited long enough for at least three changes of season. Next State over Massachusetts, I’m pretty sure it is illegal to have a picture of a suppressor in your possession.

One of the fun things to do when having Americans over; go to the local store and hear them tell how bad the selection of guns is (it is, really bad) and then make their jaw drop by showing them the selection of silencers and telling them it just to pick and pay. Only paperwork involved is cash and receipt

Yes that would be nice!! Not exactly sure if or even when we will be able to get them unregulated! You know what they say about taxes, once they put them in place they never go away

Ive used them in military and in hunting— I’m sure they have a place but the worst application I’ve ever seen was in Limpopo. My PH had a magically balanced 7 MM in a 98 that some Namibian gunsmith had spent much time and love with. The safari outfitter had dictated all guns had to be sir pressed and this guy had threaded his heart and soul rifle and added like 30 inches. It had the balance of a broomstick

Nothing against deadening noise a little, but I really don't like the look of supressors. Rifles are beautiful, not just the form, but the history, the feel of the whole thing. Just old fashioned, traditionalist me, but I think the things spoil the story a bit. With modern ear protection, is it really necessary?

I agree with you 100% there are rifles that one should never consider putting a muffler on! Then there are rifles that sit there and say PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!! The balance of this rifle to me is better with the can than without. POI is identical with or without it.
