Stopping by Swift Bullet today

Imean lets say 416 rigby as its a popular caliber.

Be like we got 25 people wanting to buy 500 to 1k in bullets each theyll allot you some bullets.

I hate to burst you bubble but you likely won’t even get looked at. Someone on here posted a while ago what the minimum number of pieces was in a single caliber/load option to get a run of ammo done and it was mind blowingly high.

Swift has long terms OEM contracts with the big manufacturers for more than a hundred times your proposed volume on A-Frames alone and can’t meet the demand. Why would Swift take product away from a customer who’s buying their entire line-up and would potentially buy 100% of production for a single run of 25k projectiles that’s not even in a single sku and isn’t repeatable annual sales?

No different than any other widget manufacturer who’s widget is used in the large scale production of something else. The widget’s individual availability to you and I gets restricted to “overruns”, or is a small allocation from each production batch to service “just enough” of the replacement demand.

I wanted to see if there would be any interest among members in doing bullet/component swaps or trades.

I have accumulated a surplus of different caliber bullets over time, while also wanting to try others before committing to large quantity purchases. The idea is simple: members could exchange bullets they have in surplus for bullets they would like to try. This could be same caliber or cross-caliber, depending on what each person needs.
For example, someone may have extra .375, .416, .458, or other bullets sitting on the bench, while another member may be looking to test a few...

We are in the same boat in Australia.
Woodleighs may not be as good as AFrmes but they are available, bonded and kill game.

The other is a new kid in the block Atomic 29 ( mono bullets). These are a brilliant bullet, deadly accurate and deadly on game. The 220 gn 35 cal is very accurate and pure dynamite in game. I tried convincing Cameron to make some 25 cal projectiles but he said they wouldn't be that popular. He made some for @K95 to try and he had outstanding results. Fast forward Cameron posted on Facebook a couple of months ago to see if he could sell 95 and 110 grain 25 cal projectiles. When I called him to get some 95s he put me at the top of the list. So far he has orders for over 3,000 25 cal projectiles and growing. He is astounded by the popularity.
Looking forward to trying mine. A 95gn mono at 3,700 fps should prove effective.

The problem for Swift is that the A-Frame make its reputation as a top end projectile company. They may sell more sciroccos but if they concentrate on them, they become just another bullet maker with nothing to distinguish them from anyone else. Short term gain, long term oblivion.

I picked up some .416 on here awhile back and I am going to see how well I can get the swift to group with DGS. If that doesn't pan out, I will sell the rest and be done with Swift all together. I just happened to see it 5 min after it was posted and after I bought several reached out wanting to buy 1/2 my score lol. It just boggles my mind they get so much PR from DG Ph's and such, but they must send them all they make because I have yet to see some on the shelf.

I found 1 box of 400 grain .416 Rem Mag A-frames a couple months ago to prepare for a trip. Thats the only box I could find. I had to go to the 400 grain Barnes and I like them better anyhow. I have easily purchased and shot about 15 boxes of Barnes in the last couple months since, and I have two boxes packed for Africa.
The Swift is still out of stock.
The accuracy of the Barnes is really spectacular.

Well, I was disappointed with my stop there. 2pm on a weekday, only 2 vehicles outside and the building locked up. I have heard that they have had trouble finding employees, maybe it’s time to move out of the small town to somewhere with a better population to find some people to work there. No store front, nothings saying we’re hiring or open for business.

Did you reach out to them before going? I assumed you had as they are a manufacturing plant and as far as I know not open to the public. Nor would I expect them to be.

Exactlly my experience when I stopped by a few years back.

But, I did just buy 200 .458 A-Frames directly from Swift (mail order, not OTC).

Would like to try some Northfork's but after placing a $2K order over a year ago< I haven't seen a single box. Placed a similar order for Swifts and have received them over the last few months. I will never use Barnes or any other Monoliths in a Double. The barrel fouling with Barnes is totally unacceptable.

I like swift sirroccos. Omce my supply of comonents runs out for my 404 ima just order enough to last forever essentially

No I did not. I have been to others like Hornady and have never had to do that. They also have over 100 vehicles in their parking lot, and it’s clear to see that Hornady is producing.

I asked him about 404 A-frame bullets, he told me they should be available in the first part of 2027. I really hope this is true because I have had excellent results using A-Frames for Buffalo, two Buffalo with two shots!

I know people have said it before but definitely sign up on their website for in stock alerts. When they did that for the 300gr 375’s I bought 4 boxes. They have the break away solids in stock now but I can’t see myself paying $166 for 24 bullets. I will go the North Fork route if I need a solid.
