What's the snake situation that time of year? I hear they are out and about? Anything to worry about? Thanks

you never know, my first hunt I had 2 Puff Adders within 6 inches of my foot. did not know anything about them until my PH was able to get them to move. next 2 trips I was spending to much time watching out for them, did not see anymore but did see a Spitting Cobra, I do not like snakes

1. They are beginning to move about more .
2. Yes they are.
3. Not really. Ask the Outfitter what might be out and about on the property you are hunting.

I am not a venomous snake lover and I can find more Scorpions and Leopards than I have ever seen snakes. I also don't go when it is warm out. So, ....

Good luck.

In the Kalahari I saw both spitting cobras and puff adders in early August.

But that's quite a bit farther north.

Do most hunters wear gators or snake boots? I’m of the ‘better safe than sorry’ crowd.

Haven´t seen anybody wear them, we all wear the low gaiters.

Anyhow, they might help with a Puff Adder, but will be useless against a Black Mamba or any of the Cobras.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
