South African outfitters: Reccomendations for SCI

I can give you the name of the one I used in RSA, Kalahari Rangers in the Northern Cape. I would suggest that you look for outfitters that have very large continuous properties. Thats usually the Northern or Eastern Cape.

Infinito safari. My son and I had a great time hunting with Andre and Tian this last June. The hunting was awesome, but throwing lighthearted insults back and forth with Tian really made the hunt. Infinito has also recently won the PHASA outfitter of the year and Cape buffalo of the year awards. Top notch outfit with onsite taxidermy. You’ll be able to walk thru the taxidermy shop and see what you’ll be getting. I’ll plan to go back with them in 2027 for buffalo.

How does hunting with Mr. Freeburn work? Is he a freelance P.H.? Does he own the properties hunted?

Dave hunts on family land owned by his father in law, he also has exclusive access to a 50000 acre tract, and a large tract on the Limpopo river.

He also has connections to other properties in South Africa and Zimbabwe with friends who own the properties or have the hunting rights.

I would focus on plains game and buffalo (rifle). I'd also prefer to fly into Joberg. Other than that, I look forward to reading your suggestions. Also, if you have any specific reasons why you reccomend the outfitter. (Like, best pumpkin fritters, huge dik diks, etc.)

Frontier Safaris will have a nice booth and is worth a visit. Family run operation on 80,000 privately owned acres.

There are lots of solid outfitters here on AH, just look at the sponsor's page for a list. @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS will be in Nashville with a booth and at the dinner. We have a few areas to hunt in RSA, including one that is about a 2.5 hour drive from Joburg. This area has good buff and plenty of PG.

Hello forum members!!! Nathan who has done such a great job setting up our AH dinners at SCI has passed the baton to me. I have reached out to Jerome as I always do to get permission to do the following for all of us:
1. Set up our DSC dinner within walking distance from the venue that was cancelled last year due to snow and ice for Friday 2/6/2026.
2. Set up our SCI dinner at the same place Nathan used for Friday 2/20/2026.

If Jerome gives me permission, I will be setting both of these up for us. I will be far out so all of us can plan.
