SOUTH AFRICA: Tootabi Hunting Safari Quick Stop Over & Short Hunt

I feel the same so I might just join you! (y)

You two just need to go hunting with me. I will sweet talk the wives into relaxing as you hunt. LOL

One thing I don't understand though.

In the pic of the stud common Springbok, the guy from RSA is in short sleeves and the guy from Minnesota has a jacket on???

What's up with that? :)
Very simple, it was a Tootabi jacket and I put it on to help promote his organization. Sorry I was not turned the right way to show the label.

hmmm spending the night in a tent out there, waking up to an amazing sun rise and the view of the mountains in the back ground sure sounds about right, not sure i could talk the wife into doing that, but that could be the day she is jumping off the bridge, which is something else needs to be a surprise for her *L*

I know I can't talk Nancy into a tent, but Loodt probably could. He's already talked her into a couple of nights without a hairdryer!!!!

Ok, ok. You don't lose your Great White North Hoser card!

Gee thanks Tim! I'm surprised you have time to bust my chops..... Don't you have packing to do;)

Lots to do with barely over a week until wheels up...but some things just cannot be ignored!

As much grief as we gave Loodt about freezing his family jewels off when he was up in the Great White North, I couldn't help but notice the disparity in dress!

But you had a perfect "excuse", so you keep your card. ;)

I am sure you will return the favor if and when I ever post any pictures of my adventure. :A Big Thanx:

If you don't, I might just be disappointed!

Tim what ever bob misses I will make sure I bust you on it. Like a pictures of you and a SA goat or things like that. I still owe you one or two I think.

That's what friends are for!

I know I can count on you to nail me whenever I leave myself open. ;)

Very well written report, I enjoyed reading it! Looks like you had a good time!

I really felt like Loodt and I "clicked", even though I am twice as old as him. He reminds me of my early business years and he invigorates me.

That second full day of hunting the Karroo, we did get a bit carried away... The plan was to check my shooting and my gun so we set out to find an "easy" target but did not want to take an unproductive shot so we were looking for a blesbuck or wildebeest standing broadside at a reasonable range.... Well first thing we come across was a group of blesbuck and another of black wildebeest converging and soon both Loodt and myself have out blood up and the hunting instinct kicks in and the plan went right out the window..... I blew a tough shot I should not have taken and never did get that "easy shot".... Somehow forgot all about that plan! Although after that shot I took few shots at a distant rock and confirmed the gun was on....

After an interlude to stalk the klippies up that big rock face, the ones we got we got up to 20 yards of... We ended the day with 2 wildebeest, a blesbuck and that nice old broken horned red hartebeest..... And my wife a bit perturbed and cussing both of us for being "bloodthirsty"..... That came as we were piling the red hartebeest on top of the full load of dead meat already filling the bakki! She did not seem to understand why I would shoot another wildebeest and hartebeest.... Oh well, she paid the bill, so must have gotten over it;)

Sometimes a man just doesn't know when to quit! ;)

@ActionBob thanks so very much for sharing your hunt report with all this wonderful members on AH.

It was great to read your hunt and to relive the entire experience. You mentioned that I invigorates you... However I think it is exactly the opposite brother! Having you and Ann as guests was wonderful, but knowing that you will return is even a sweeter thought.

Thank you for choosing Tootabi Hunting Safaris and we are proud to be associated with you and your hunting adventures.

Take care and may God Bless you and your family!

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
