Hi everyone, I'm sitting at Kennedy airport with my better half on the way to the Eastern Cape for alittle R/R . As most of you know this is not a "hunting" trip but I'm squeezing in one day on Wednesday the 4th of May. I'm trying to complete my spiral slam needing Nyala and bushbuck. I'll keep everyone up to date.

Have a safe trip and make the most out the 4th! ;)

No pressure....

Have fun.

Johnny have a good trip. I say one day of hunting is better than no hunting days.

Good luck!

I'm interested in how this turns out - nyala have always been easier for me than bushbuck. You only seem to get a couple of hours in the morning and late afternoon to find bushbuck . . .

Good luck!

You are in good hands with Jono! Enjoy!

Good luck and play safe .....and if you are a Starwars fan .... MAY THE 4 TH BE WITH YOU ! LOL ! SICNR !

Maybe I will get lucky in Zim on a bushbuck

I think they can be hard to find there - depending on where you are. But good luck - the Chobe bushbuck is one of the most beautiful.

One day. Wow that's better then none, but .... There has to be some present you can buy to stretch it out to two days. :-)

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
