Just remembered to reformat the SDHC cards from the trail cams. (Have to make sure they will work.)
I really found taking the trail cameras along last time added so much to my hunt, certainly the Leopard hunt, that I thought I had better take them along again.
I have even set the time and date correctly for local time so Ses won't think I'm out there poaching.
I should certainly be within the weight restriction for the rifle case with only one firearm coming this time.
A few more rounds with the bow and then its into the case it goes. Hopefully, to be seen in ORTambo on Saturday morning.
Wayne, good luck on the hunt and looking forward to the report! Just left KMG, so i can vouch for your package waiting with Marius. One more day for me in Vic Falls and then back to the Great White North. Safe travels!
BA decided to stipulate that the Ammunition container had to be separate from the big bag. He could not find it online, I sure as hell did not.
I asked where it was in writing and the Manager never found it. I let him away with it because there was not going to be an extra charge for the ammo case.
If there were, the $400.00 extra I'd have had to pay would have made it worth my while to continue the contest.
They were actually very good and got my stuff tagged properly and now we'll see it in Joburg. My declaration inside the case and locked tight.
Made it through Security all dabbed, swabbed and specific gravity weights taken on those contact lens solutions.
It is 04:10 in London and the sun is just thinking about going down here.
It's only a nine hour flight and I am looking forward to winding down and getting some sleep on the way over that big ocean.
Mule deer and Colorado elk seasons almost done! Hunters driving farm roads, looking for racks, their PH driving them along, I ask that you not pull into my drive. The buck behind me, on the boundary line of the GMU somehow knows. The hunter laughs, I would invite you in to see my Searcy rifles but social distancing prevails, darkness arrives and the buck slides away into secret tree grove...
i‘ve taken to heart a suggestion to tell my story about a lion hunt 37 years ago. ‘I don’t know, but am thinking there are site rules as to posting and file type. Three of the four posts (chapters?) are done, I took time away from here to write up the story. I have a couple of photos too.
also, I’m going to dissemble the rifles and see if Butch may have signed them. I’ll let you know.
