My brother and myself left from Mumbai airport by southafrican airlines on 12th august. We met Pieter and Lourence of Paw Print Safaris for the first time as we came out of the Joburg airport.We got connected with them in minutes , and the two weeks we spent with them were the most enjoyble days of our hunting lives. Both of them were very friendly and great company ,plus they were very knowledgeable and experts in their field. They did everything that they could to make this trip of ours a really perfect trip. First we took a five hours drive to Stella which is called the green Kalahari and stayed there in a very comfortable and well catered lodge for the first part of the hunt. We will always remember the lions roaring around the camp at night as we lay in our warm beds. It was very cold but we were well prepared as Pieter had advised us well in advance about the weather. We had not brought our own rifles and used Pieters 375 and 458 for the entire hunt. The 375 had a nice scope which was precisely zeroed. The 458 was with open sights. Both the rifles were very accurate.After firing a few rounds on target from both the rifles to get accustomed to them, we were ready to go. The area we were hunting was a beautiful forest well stocked with a large variety of game. After taking three lioness in this area we moved to another part of the country for buffalo. It was a long drive but Pieters company was good and we got to see a lot of the South African country side. We stopped mid way for the night where we had dinner with Pieters family. We were really touched by the way they welcomed us . The next day we reached Hoedspruit and settled in a new camp for the rest of the hunt. This again was a very comfortable lodge with impala herds roaming around our camp and wart hogs coming to eat the leftovers around the camp fire. Anton , the chef was not just an excellent cook but a very lively and jovial person and made our eating time really enjoyable. Here we shottwo buffalo cows one giraffe and a nyala bull.The entire hunt was a very nice experience and the two weeks passed away in a flash. We are looking foward to hunt with Pieter again in the future but this time we will be taking our wives and children with us.
