SOUTH AFRICA: Improvise, Adapt & Overcome With JKO HUNTING SAFARIS

Great write up and congrats on both the bulls. Sounds like you had a great time.

That’s really cool that you took a second one also. Congratulations!

I enjoyed your hunt report. Look like OLD warriors. Good for you. Congrats

Bruce

Although there are MANY great outfitters across the continent, JKO is the only outfitter I hunt with. The owner/PH Jacques and his other PH Riaan make you feel like part of their family and NEVER steer you wrong with the quality of their venues or game animals.

Congratulations on two nice buffalo, sounds like you had quite the hunt!

Thanks a lot for sharing and a well deserved Waidmannsheil @BeeMaa ! Love that second buffalo as well.

But since the cats out of the bag now, which double rifle in what +45 caliber are you looking for? :)

I'm looking for hen's teeth...Blaser S2 500/416NE and 30-06 barrels. ;) After seeing these animals in person, I understand why there are minimum calibers and energy requirements.

But seriously, I'll stick with the 375H&H. Despite all the practice I did, I could have done more to be better prepared. The only thing I'm likely to change would be the addition of a RDO like an AimPoint T2/H2. I'll still take the scope, but it could be as the backup.

Hmmm, I think you have it in you to find a good working Army&Navy double rifle somewhere ;)

No pressure ! Would just fit better with your PO :D

Great report, that second buff is a brusier. Now that your an addict without hope of quitting you should stop by the MRC booth at the SCI convention, there may be a 404J in you future.

Wow! Congrats on the second bull also!

Congrats, Eric! A very exciting report, albeit a bit worrisome for you at first! Good job keeping after that first buffalo. Cheers!

If there is a 404J in my future, it will be in the form of an R8 barrel. :ROFLMAO:

I stopped by their booth in '23 at SCI and they were really just getting started. It's good to see them back on their feet and making a quality product again.

Eric, Just catching up on your well written report. Taking any animal to bed is painful but in this case thankfully turned out well. Congrats and I'm sure our fellow members will be right there with you in their usual enabling form searching for that new rifle.

What a great experience - and really well told. Congrats on a fabulous pair of bulls.

Great job and report. I have heard that you can't go hunting in Africa just once. I thought I could, but now I am planning number 6

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
