SOUTH AFRICA: Hunting With Boschnel

WOW is all I can say. I went on a 3 week hunt Aug 12- Sep 1 with Boschnel, "Brendan" as main PH. He and his staff where more than amazing. From the time we stepped off the plane in Johannesburg to the time we left we were the main focus. I hunted and a good friend of mine went along for the adventure and take pictures. His wife said she needed a vacation to and so she sent him with me. I had a list and a budget, but of course I went over budget by a little. Brendan is incredible at spotting animals and of great trophy quality. We hunted hard and I have the cuts and scratches to prove it. No this is not a white tail deer hunt. These are some bad hard fighting animals that you have to track, shoot and track some more. I learned so much not only about the animals in depth but the culture as well. Side bar leave Brendan alone while rugby is on the tv. I don't speak AfriKan but i could figure out what most of those words ment in english.

After my hunt was over the score was 19. And I am starting to plan another trip with Brendan and Boschnel next year. Maybe Hippo and Lion will be on the new list....

My wife and I went to the lowveld in June with BoschNel. They were very helpful in making the arrangements as well as helping us with a 3 day safari in the Krueger national park. This was our 35th anniversary trip but my wife said it had to be more than just a hunting trip, so we did both. They were gracious and took her to do shopping and dayspa things while I went hunting for free range Cape buffalo, Waterbuck, zebra and Nile crocodiles. The food, fellowship and time we shared was awesome. I will include some pics of the safari as well. This is my second trip with BoschNel and would recommend them highly!

BOSCHNEL FIRST DAY OF HUNTING. TWO ZEBRA AND HUGE CAPE

I FINALLY GOT MY PICTURES ON THE COMPUTER AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THE HUNT WITH THE GROUP. BRENDAN AND HIS STAFF ARE MUCH MORE THAN JUST YOUR THE NEXT CLIENT OF THE WEEK. I FELT LIKE THE BEGINNING OF A NEW FRIENDSHIP FROM HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD. AND NO THIS IS NOT A EASY HUNT, I HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH THE THORNS AND BUSHES TO TAKE THESE TROPHIES. YES VERY MUCH IN MY BLOOD AND I SPILT A LOT OF BLOOD IN S. AFRICA. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE IS NOT THAT "I NEED A BIGGER BOAT" TO QUOTE THE MOVIE JAWS.......BUT I HAVE TO BUILD A BIGGER HOUSE.....

THIS WAS MY SECOND DAY IN COUNTRY OF S. AFRICA HAD THE BEST TIME WITH BRENDAN AND ALL OF THE CREW.... TOOK A FEW ANIMALS..... USING MY 300 WEATHERBY MAG.. MUCH TOUGHER THAT WHITE TAIL HUNTING. CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH IF YOU ARE PLANNING A RETURN OR A FIRST TRIP TO HUNT AFRICA, GIVE BRENDAN A EMAIL ABOUT A HUNT...... BOSCHNEL.... I HAVE MANY MORE PICTURES TO COME, JUST SEN
