Sorry for the delay. Had no access to AH while there as my phone update cleared my passwords and I could not remember that one.
Henry runs a great operation @HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS. Accomodations are excellent as is the food and staff. There is more game there of almost every species in South Africa than I saw in the East Cape last year. Considering this is in an area that got huge amounts of rain so there is water available almost everywhere, I found that amazing. From Rhino to Meerkat there is so much game you are constantly seeing and evaluating for either cull or trophy.
Henry got me within decent shooting range on EVERY one. Some I could have Daniel Booned...(jumped on the back and used a knife range). Included in that group were Giraffe, Sable, Oryx, Kudu, Nyala and Cape Buffalo! The latter was a rather hair raising experience that we were lucky to have come out of unscathed!
Henry took great pains to answer my questions, explain the area and record many hunts. I also very much preferred his walking safari approach. Some PH/outfitters do the drive around, spot and stalk method. While I understand some hunters aren't capable of a walking safari, others are just plain lazy. Henry and I walked almost exclusively except to get to another concession area. We walked 10 -16 kilometers a day which I thoroughly enjoyed! We hunted primarily alone and once game was down the staff arrived, loaded the game and headed back to camp where it was quickly processed.
Henry, Tania and staff were all very friendly. It was like hunting with family. I would not hesitate to hunt with them again!
