    Hello everyone.
At an auction held by the Nordic Safari club I have won a 6 day safari at Trompettersfontein Safaris and Hunting Lodge in South Africa. Are there any of you who know them and can give me some information about them. Both good and bad. Thanks.

    Yours sincerely, Poul Martinussen

    Hi.
Is there really no one in AH who knows them.?:(
Their website is called http://www.trompettersfontein.com and they operate from Lephalale, Limpopo.
Any kind of info will be very welcome. Thanks.

    Hi.
Like you I have won an auction as well.

My plan is to go hunting with them the first week of September. I have been corresponding with a man named Bob Deklerk via email. But I must say the are very slow to respond, and I have a hard time getting them to answer all of my questions.

If you go in June, I would very much like to hear how your hunt vent and what was good and bad.

    Thanx.

Saw this on their brochure, and caught me by surprise...I was under the impression a hunter was required to be accompanied by a PH.

Maybe it just means if you're a resident of South Africa you don't have to have a PH.

Correct. They obviously cater for local hunters as well.

Many operations in Africa are slow to respond. However, most outfitters here on AH realize the importance of swift communication and do so for their clients. Some people call the situation.......”Africa Time”.
Keep sending emails until you get the answers you require. You have time.

    Hi

"Im a little nervous as I can't find any reviews of them online." That was also why I started this thread. Fingers crossed for you and look forward to reading about your experiences when you get home.

    Yours Sincerely
    Poul

Hello. My review was good overall. I'm literally at airport now going home from trip. Marius the ph was great. He really know how to track animals well. I took a kudu and zebra on top pf the impala, wildebeest, and warthog. Saw plenty of eland and waterbuck monsters. They are worth a look if it's in your budget. I would encourage you not to sit blinds and walk and stalk if you want a better hunt. The skin came off zebra but that was not their fault. A little pressured to take more animals by Bob the father in law of Bob. A extra 300 taxidermy transportation cost was added that was unaware of. Property is on smaller side. Slepping quaters and showers were good. Food good. Pm me for more info.
