Oh I hate to break up a good laugh at bunny huggers, but I think this is photoshopped. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like the pic of the lion was taken late in the day with the sun off to the left as there's a shadow to the lion's right. There is no such shadow by the much taller bakkie. And the driver seems to be staring straight ahead, but would certainly see the lion.

Still.....it's funny to think about.

I couldn't decide if it was shopped or not but it made me laugh.
 
No need of photoshopping (and the car's shadow is there in the grass), it happens often in the National Parks: lions are used to see cars and tourists, and usually don't give a dead rat about them. There are probably more lions than that one, the tourists had their fill watching them and taking pictures, and now they are looking at elephants or anything else on the other side.

Still not very clever to just turn all your backs like that...
