Here’s a question for the American members.
I plan to have a shipment from Africa sent to a USF&W approved port of entry city.
Unfortunately, I now live quite some distance from the port of entry, or I would clear the shipment myself (as I have done with previous shipments when I lived nearby).
But fortunately, I have a close friend that lives close to the USF&W office (and the airport) who will gladly clear the shipment for me.
As the shipment is in my name, I’m sure that I will need to provide a Power of Attorney authorizing my friend to clear it in my behalf.
Does anyone have a “template” power of attorney for this purpose that has previously been found acceptable by the USF&W and the freight carrier?
In other words, a template POA in which I just fill in the blanks, with the specific details, signature, notary, etc., and provide to my friend that will clear the shipment.
