SCI Convention 2026 - Who Is Joining Me?

Wou
My wife and I will be there Thursday and Friday. Would like to attend the AH dinner.
Would like?....Would like?.....by all means Please Plan to attend. It's a great way to not only put names to faces of other AH members. It's also a great chance to socialize and mingle with others of like minded interest.

No cancellations. No empty booths due to visas.
In Atalanta several exhibitors had smaller contingents present different people because of the visa issues. A lot of them hold UK or South African passports so didn’t have a problem. Those with only a Zim passport had more trouble. But they all found a way to have someone there.

I read Dalton and York’s post today regarding their convention plans. Dalton mentioned that he’s unable to attend the conventions this year because of restrictions on Zimbabweans getting visas. York has a non-Zim passport so he will be attending.

Does anyone have a read on the impact of the Visa restrictions on outfitter attendance this year? Are we going to see many empty booth slots?
Doug most of the African outfitters I know are here in the states the exception is Zimbabwe it seems. It is more complicated and long waits for some countries. This will not affect the show in any way.

Thursday is sold out.
The Ryman is going to be epic. Last year was just a taste and this year will be bigger. As we left the Ryman last year I called it that we would certainly be back! Can't wait for Nashville.

This is great news! Thanks Philip. I’m sorry for the Zim operators though.

Kind of a shame the DSC thread devolved into how vendors size up clients shoes and wristwatches.

That's always bound to happen at any event, but the last 2 years at SCI I've been very pleased at most of the vendors willingness to talk to folks. Quite often, money isn't the real issue, it's who you click with.

Then there's the game you didn't know you wanted to hunt till you saw one at the show! I had no Idea I'd be hunting "Vampire Deer" in the U.K. till Tina saw one last year. :D

...and me?
I had no idea I needed a Lord Derby Eland until I started hanging out with you guys!

So how do the gals register for the Women's mix n mingle with Melissa Bachman on Saturday? Can't seem to find anything at the SCI website other than this picture, and nothing on the Convention app.

Can they just show up?

Received my bar code this morning. Is there a seporate one for my wife (guest) and other tickets we purchased. Or is it all inclusive?? I can’t remember from last year!! Thanks!!

Buddy of mine attending the show with me had a knee replacement a few weeks back; he’s got a scooter on reserve just in case.
I love it. No excuses. Make it happen!

My outfitter and friend asked me "represent" for his family this year. That being said, I hope you all won't mind me giving out business cards with my contact info on them. I don't want to step over any unspoken rules, protocol, or secret hand shakes!

Talked to Lou Hallamore. In Zim you have to put down a $15,000 US deposit per person to get your visa to come to US that you will get back…too much to him which I completely understand
This has not been implemented , any Zimbabwean passport holder cannot apply for a visa yet unfortunately .

As I shared before my friend PH Lou Hallamore who lives in Zim told me that to get a visa to US at this time requires a $15k deposit that you are supposed to get back but many PHs in my opinion either do not have that free cash or don’t trust the system so in cases where there might be three PHs from Zim in previous years they will still be there but only one of the three as an example

When you arrive at the convention center go to the kiosks and scan your bar code. It will then print your badge and any tickets for evening events etc that you have purchased. Each person will have their own bar code. I have mine stored in my Apple wallet for convenience. Then you can get a badge holder and convention bag and be off to explore!

I do not believe there is any need for tickets for the mix and mingle. It is just a come and go event.

This is the beauty of SCI, the convention, and the record book. Without it I would not be after the tiny ten or like you know anything about an LDE! The list goes on.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
