SCI Convention 2026 - Who Is Joining Me?

The SCI Foundation Gala sponsored by Beretta last night was amazing as usual. Many millions were raised for conservation.

My wife and i are attending wed-fri. See you somewhere on the floor and we will be at the AH Dinner.
Arlene and I will be there Thursday and Friday. Hope to see you

Y'all need to make a B-Line for the Swift Bullets booth and score some AFrames. I give it till about 10:30 before they dry up.
Got mine at 0935. .410 & .416 400gr Aframes. One of the few reasons I stopped in. Met with a couple of friends. Did not meet any AH members that I knew of…..tried the weird wink several times..,..no one responded but security guards were called twice. Well, I am taking my afternoon nap early since SCI security put me on time out. I did manage to make dinner plans with 2 outfitters for tonight.

We won't make it this year - my wife just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!

Hope everyone has a great convention - see you next year!

I met them in Atlanta and they brought me some .366 bullets to Nashville. I couldn’t make it to Nashville today so I had one of my PH buddies go by and pick them up for me this morning. I’m excited about trying them out.

Someone give us a full report…

What did the turn out look like?

Exhibitors make a lot of sales?

Any great deals found on the floor?

I arrived at noon today. The center was packed! Very good turnout for a Thursday. I saw some evidence of bookings. More than few tire kickers as always. But I think this show will be a winner.

Congratulations! Go to SCI next year and order a Rigby for her.

Haven't seen what the big Taxidermy display is just outside the Convention Hall. The Cape Buffalo the first year were awesome. Last year the Rhino were nice, but not as good as the Buff in my opinion.

Anyone have pic's to show?

Check-in was a Cluster F*ck this morning. It was on the second floor and they were sending people to the third and first floor to check in, but then you had go back down or up to the second to get your neck carrier and then back to the third to enter. Heard some folks despite prepaying the machines were not spitting out their tickets. It took most of the day to walk the floor. I was able to talk to a couple of outfitters and the floor was well attended. Finding a place to sit and eat was impossiable. My wife and I just sat on the floor and ate. Food was decent for Convention Center food. I've had better and a lot worse. Friday and Saturday should be a zoo. Exhibitors were making some sales, depending on who they were. For example CMS was almost completely booked solid they had a few dates left for 2027. I received conflicting info regarding Uganda, that's up in the air until I can get straight answers as if the outfitters actually have the Topi quota that I want. Only one Mozambique outfitter was willing to discount any thing off list price and that was because I did not want a Charter. I saw lots show specials for hunts that I was not interested in.

Does anyone have a good restaurant to recommend? I don’t want a chain but something unique to Nashville. Some place with character! A dinner restaurant for Saturday night. Been to Monell’s and thought it was great but want to try something new.

The 2nd annual continuing legal education seminar (Issues in Firearms Law) held this afternoon at the Music Center was informative and interesting. Good work on the part of the SCI Litigation Team in their preparation and scheduling.

Most of the cases discussed by the presenters involved appeals of prohibitive court orders from gun cases out of California, Hawaii, and several North Eastern states like New York, Connecticut, etc.

A Canadian lawyer also gave a short update on Canadian gun laws, which was “depressing.” I don’t know how they can even own any guns up there with such overreaching laws and regulations. She concluded that she is seriously considering permanently moving to the USA.

God bless our founding fathers and the Bill of Rights, especially 2A. People can bitch about the USA all they want, but we sure have it better than most. See you tomorrow at the Convention and the AH dinner gathering.

Happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.
