Savage Model 110 in .375 Ruger

Just curious if anyone has any familiarity with the Savage model 110 in .375 Ruger. I keep looking at more budget friendly Africa guns and keep coming across the model 110. Reviews online for smaller calibers seem to be positive. Unfortunately not seeing a lot of info for the big boy. Thanks.

I do not own one in .375 Ruger, but I am a big fan of the Savage 110 line. As a budget rifle I never really considered it - I am a Browning guy. But on my first trip to Africa the rifle I rented from my PH was a Savage 110 in .308. Upon sight I was not very impressed. Man... that thing was a tack driver. Unbelievable repeatable accuracy. I now own 2 Savage 110's (a .308 and a 7MM Mag) and they both had that great shooting ability straight out of the box.

The most accurate rifle I have ever had, and I have had a bunch, was a Savage 110 single shot heavy weight barrel in 223.
3 shot group just under 1/4 inch center to center with my own hand loads.
Not a glamorous rifle, but with that kind of accuracy, who cares about glamour!!

They are typically very accurate, but the bolt is not the smoothest out there. For dangerous game this may be a concern.

I have a savage in 375 H&H. Would not recommend in big caliber. Buy a Ruger

I also have a Savage in 375 H&H and I love mine!

What issues have you had with yours?
Mines been issue free, and pretty accurate. It’s not a glamorous rifle at all , but it’s a great “working”rifle.

Recoil lug bent on it. Not sure how that is possible. Gunsmith never saw anything like it.
