While sambar was pretty low on my list when we traveled to New Zealand last year, I quickly got an education on just how elusive these big deer can be and gained a whole new respect for them.

Thanks for sharing! Is it difficult to get your rifle into New Zealand?

No, it couldn't be easier. Submit application online and check in with police at airport when you arrive. Give them $25NZ and you are on your way with your permit.
