My wife and I will be headed back to RSA in 2026 this time to the Eastern Cape. Flying into Cape Town then on to Gqberha. So far I have never visited a Safari Outdoors or other similar place during my travels. I'd like to do that this time but I'm not sure what is in Cape Town or Gqberha or close. On another note I'd like to have my PH procure a suppressor with the 5/8x24 threads in .30 cal. I travel via United so that is via Newark and NJ is NOT suppressor friendly( at the moment time and Trump will tell).
In any event I was hoping there is a place to visit while there and close enough to get to before the Safari begins. I know suppressors aren't regulated over there but can one purchase one themselves over the counter and then leave it with the PH. Obviously I can't bring it home.
What places can I look into visiting near Cape Town or Gqeberha?

This is a common question asked from US hunters. Only your PH can answer your question, or possibly come up with a workable solution. Good luck!

There was a great shop just off the road to Stellenbosch the last time I was there.

Without question Safari Outdoors in JNB is outstanding!!! All depends on your flights into JNB before next flight if you will have time to visit. They have everything

Id like to stop in at a Safari Outdoors someday. I'd also like to stop in at Melville and Moon. They're a bit fancy looking but it looks like a cool store.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
