I initially purchased this rifle to use for my next plains game safari but I eventually decided to get a Mark X bolt rifle and use it instead so I cannot justify this rifle to the boss(wife) anymore.
To be completely honest I haven’t had it very long and haven’t even had the chance to take it to the range yet, so some of the information I am adding is from the previous owner.
Based off the serial number it was manufactured either in 1977 or 1978.
The stock is a Bell and Carlson stock.
Barrel is very bright and in very good condition.
The muzzle is threaded and has a KDF muzzle break currently on it.
It has the accurizer attachment on the forend hanger.
Previous Owner said accuracy was great and showed me pictures of him holding the rifle next to his trophy elk he took a few years ago, so I am inclined to believe him.
A few small minor scratches on either side of the receiver evidently from field use.
I also have a custom Ruger no 1 unfinished wooden buttstock and forend for the rifle, he told me it was 90% complete and needed some minor inletting and then finishing. Compared to my spare factory buttstock it is a little longer allowing for customization of the LOP. Plus it has a nice cheek piece unlike the factory options.
I am looking for $1000 plus shipping for the rifle, $300 plus shipping for the wooden stocks or $1200 plus shipping if both are purchased together. The rifle will be shipped through my local FFL, you’ll only have to pay the shipping portion obviously, not the fees.
