As a follow up .... Although Beau made a diligent effort to identify the stock maker by searching the barrel channel, in this case the barrel channel was hollow-out - perhaps for lightening the stock, or for adding lead shot to add weight to the rifle. Regardless, since the barrel channel was altered it left no room for a stamp. So, the maker stamped his work under the grip cap. It is stamped LGMews - This stock was made by Lenard Mews.
