I have 3 of these, one 20" and one heavy 24" both factory and a custom barrelled and stocked.
Shoot these on Sage Rats and PD's and they are great fun, easy to load for and cheep to shoot.

If that was in Australia it would read Swaro Z3 scope will throw in rifle for free.
The little Hornet is a great cartridge with a 40gn VMAX and a dose of lil'gun. Great in small game to 200+ yards.

I didn't try the VMAX but the sierra 40 gr shoots well in the rifle.

What load do you use.

I use W296 and H110. Have worked loads for several 22 Hornets and find those 2 powders almost always produce best accuracy and velocity and I really like 40gr Hornady Vmax. I have many other calibers of varmint guns (204 Ruger, 17 MarkIV, 20 Bobcat, 20 Tactical, 20 Vartarg, 223, 223AI, 22 CM,
22-250, 224DJ and some 6mm's). We have a lot of wind where I live and shoot, even Oregon
spring Sage Rat shoots can have whacky weather. We even use a fair number of 17WSM & 17HMR for Sage Rats and spring Prairie Dog pups. You can really shoot a 22 Hornet for what the 17 rimfire"s
now cost.
Lil'gun for me has not produced the velocity and accuracy as well as H110 or 296 and it fouls a little worse.
