Researching dik dik hunts…

[dchum]

Hi All
A mate and I hunted using KMG Hunting Safaris. shooting 2 Dik Dik
one was 3" one was 3.5" had a great time.

Where did yall go hunt them?

I assume KMG organized a trip to Namibia for Damara?

Strive for 1/5 cubit, but no one in America is interested in 3"+ lol. Namibia surprisingly for its lack of nutriments and water in the vast Kalihari/Namib desert (not the entire country, just most) has some whoppers! Just seeing one is a privilege, and taking one even moreso. The length of its horn is unimpressive/unimportant from any angle. The journey, culture, hunt, et. al., those are priceless. If I explained this to Andrew Dice Clay, he'd something more eloquent to say about it! lol

*They were like $1K when we hunted them, and yes you could take 'em w/ an air rifle (or even a Farmer's Blow for those of you that know what that means). It's a love of conservation (not just killing) that keeps 'em on the ground, in Namibia! Ours was long enough ago that the guide asked me if I wished to meet the African star of The Gods Must Be Crazy (and I did, but i wanted to continue hunting AND his own PHs and helpers were ALL super wonderful Herero descendants of bushman/san trackers just like RIP ole click-click (and HE was akin to Hollywood Royalty in Namibia-lol in a very good way!)
