Don't assume membership longevity is an indication of security for your purchase.

Well, I finally got scammed yesterday. 280.00 gone. Paid PP F&F and I’m done trusting people. Gkhiggins89@hotmail.com is a scammer, be warned.

Well look on the bright side, at least you didn’t buy a bark river knife.

Very amateurish. IMHO, not worth the time to send an email and would report him/her/it to the mods.

So true, remember @Chickensh*t? He was on this forum actively participating for almost 3 years. Then he saw an opportunity, and two or three of us on here got scammed by this POS.

Get a phone number and call the seller, and if something just doesn't feel right, trust your gut and run. Those POS are everywhere.

Finding any hard-to-find ammo, rifle, accessories, etc. is inviting scammers and the undesirables of this world. I've bought items off this site, but only from our own members with a track record of engagement. Protect our own.

I sell stuff on here and only want Zelle, PP or Venmo.

I use all thee of those in my life almost daily. So that’s what I like.

Put everything aside, the best thing is just to get on the Phone and call or FaceTime the seller. Period.

Shout out to @Beck,
He pinged me early this morning that a thief used my photos of the 458 Lott sold here last week in an ad on Gunbroker for sale!
I login to GB and sent message about the fraud.
The thief had 5 other rifle listings, all ending in 8 hrs. Not so bright he listed PayPal as payment and each listing had different setting in the photos GB removed the ads within 2hrs!, thank goodness.

Not a sales scam but a phone scam my wife got hit with the other day.
Apparently a new tactic is to call and say they are a sheriff or some other LEO and asking the person why they failed to show up to their court summons. They made her isolate to take the call, tried to tell her she signed some documents a couple weeks ago and now she failed to appear for a subpoena and subject to several fines in the thousands.
He told her she was going to have to leave work to go pay these fines or be subject to arrest.
She talked to her supervisor about having to leave, supervisor googled it and showed it was a new scam. She was pretty upset. Warn your family.

Stay away and report whoever sent you the message to the mods. Good luck on finding what you are looking for.

I currently have a post in the classifieds looking for an empty vintage box of .416 Rigby. One guy contacted me and told me had some Eleanor Rigbys but needed $500 for them! Said they were made by the Beatles and wanted me to wire money to Bangladesh. I'm thinking in his rudimentary knowledge of English he googled Rigby.

Ask yourself these questions in regards to scammers pretending to be Law Enforcement;
1. Did I get a citation recently or did I receive a mailed summons or subpoena?
2. Was I in the area they are claiming I received said citation, summons, or subpoena recently?
3. Did I run through a toll both without paying recently?
4. How gullible do I look?
If I answer no to any of those questions it’s a scam and nobody is coming to arrest you. If it’s a text report it as a scam. If it shows up in your email don’t open it and delete it. Continue on with your day.

Well, l feel quite certain DM from member “Bimdee” was a scam from earlier today. I was told to email someone that he knew (that seemed to be a member) had a rifle for sale.
I email the person asking for pictures and proof he had the rifle. He was offended at my request, never provided proof, only would accept elec payment like Zelle, Venmo, Bitcoin, etc. Claimed to be a member on this sight. So I DM-ed the member asking vague questions. Nothing matched up….
Damn thieves!
