I’ve used Zelle for lots of classified dealings.

That isn’t the scam…

I'm not saying that was the scam. The individual I dealt with only used Zelle, and nothing else, and that should have been my clue to run. Also, the problem with Zelle is that if the transaction goes south, you are done and there is nothing Zelle will do for you. The funds are lost, and in my case that is exactly what happened to me.

I hate to read this, and it sucks! I was taken by Chickensh*t a while back and should have known better to send payment via Zelle. Do you mind elaborating more on how this happened, for our own awareness and knowledge. Thank you!

Absolutely could - for that reason it would not hurt my feelings to have to supply a copy of your government issued ID for membership here (some form of proof of ID)

The scammers would probably just use a fake/photo shopped/AI generated ID anyway. Good thought though.

That’s the same wording and email address that was sent to me on Wills NULA, ULA for sale thread back on August 3rd, 2025.

Yikes, I get anxious enough waiting for my midway packages to come in with ups 2-day air. Forget about wiring funds to a stranger for a gun I’ve only seen in pictures. On the odd occasion I use gb for brass, magazines, or other hard to find items, I pay with a usps money order. The postal inspectors will go after people who run scams involving the po; that said, I still wouldn’t get involved with anything for more than a couple bucks.

@AfricaHunting.com most ISPs will support geoblocking if you'd like to exclude the countries most commonly associated with scams that have no involvement in the hunting industry.

Multifactor authentication with a cookie that remembers a trusted device would reduce credential hijacking.

Most ISPs also have "Impossible Journey" blocking where it would detect my home location in the midwestern USA, therefore I can't possible be in Nigeria 4 hours later.

There are some basic options available for free to near free prices that would make AH safer.

I think the guy (Felipe) selling a Leupold scope had his account hacked.

Used a photo from a 2024 listing on another site and exact same description. Almost all other posts on his account are in Spanish. Granted, This, coupled with a price that was way too low, had me bail.
